Bed: A Walnut Bed to Outlive Us

Upon purchasing our first home, Rob was eager to begin furnishing it with pieces that would stand the test of time. Naturally, the first item on his list was the bedframe. Crafted with care, this piece is built to withstand the years with draw-bore joints that accommodate seasonal wood movement, along with steel knockdown hardware for easy transport no matter where life leads us. To infuse a touch of mid-century modern style, we incorporated matching arches and pass-throughs on both the head and foot boards.

Refresh for the Powder Room

After snagging a great deal on a quartz vanity top, we went on the hunt for a white oak cabinet with black hardware to match. To our surprise, we couldn't find the perfect piece anywhere. So, we decided to make our own minimalist cabinet with inset doors. We added a special touch by including solid white oak legs and making custom black handles. These handles were carefully crafted using a table saw method called cove-cutting, then coated in durable black polyurethane to enhance the wood's natural beauty and protect it from damage.
